Congratulations to the winners

The 2010 Prize winners will be announced shortly.

A range of exciting competitions took place during 2009. Firstly, we would like to congratulate all of our NCDW 2009 event organisers for contributing to another great year of the campaign. With 780 events, thousands of Australians of all ages and career stages took the first step towards taking control of their future.

Congratulations to the organisers of outstanding NCDW events in 2009 who were invited to attend a breakfast seminar entitled "Black Clouds Bring Rain! ... changing the way you think" in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. These winners include Karen Egbars (Manager, Workforce Capability Unit, QBuild, Department of Public Works, QLD); William Weeks (Vocational Education Coordinator, Forest Lake College, QLD); Helen Fondas (Careers Adviser / Transition Pathways Coordinator, Beverly Hills Girls High School, NSW); Alan Giblin (TAFE Counsellor, Belmont TAFE, NSW); Keith Keller (Career Coach, Blog Talk Radio Presenter & Online Job Search Specialist, VIC); Meri Ivanovska (Career & Transition Project Officer - Mentoring, Inner Melbourne VET Cluster, VIC); Robyn Elliott (Employer Liaison Officer, Careers Service, The University of Adelaide, SA); Marlene Maney (Careers Counsellor, SACE/VET Executive Assistant, Cardijn College, SA). For the inside story on this event, you can check out the blog.

A special thank you to everyone who sent in photos and stories of their event. A number of NCDW 2009 event organisers who sent us photos and written reports of their events to share with the NCDW community will also be receiving a token of our appreciation. Courtesy of Annemarie Cross, Career Coach and co-host of NCDW Alliance Partner Career Communique Radio, we have awarded 10 copies of Annemarie's book entitled "10 Key Steps to Ace that Interview" for our event organisers to share with their community.

Congratulations to Cindy Hastings, Career Development Practitioner from Employment Choice, who did an outstanding job of promoting NCDW in her local newspaper and on local radio. Also, we thank Angela Centorrino, Careers Adviser, Kogarah High School, who let us know she'd heard NCDW Ambassador Chris Bath on Mix FM radio and sent in some really inspiring comments about telling her students that every week is National Career Development Week!

We are also delighted to be able to treat two event organisers to a hard-earned trip to the cinema, courtesy of NCDW. Our congratulations go to Angie Edwards for her initiative with the Boronia Prison event which has led the way for further career development activities within the Department of Corrective Services. We'd similarly like to congratulate the initiative of Pamela Mantaring for the ACT Centrelink Staff Career Expo.

It has certainly been another outstanding year for NCDW, and from the phonecalls and emails we've been receiving from our event organisers everyone involved is a winner. There is no better reward than knowledge itself - so keep up the good work!
