Happy Christmas & Best Wishes for the New Year
It's that time of year again when we all take a well-earned holiday and spend some valuable quality time with our loved ones. The NCDW team would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during 2009 and encourage you to continue to get involved in 2010. We've been busy developing some exciting new content which will appear in the coming months so read on to find out more. In the meantime, our very best wishes for the festive season and we look forward to working with you next year to encourage all Australians to get the life they choose.
New & Improved NCDW Website
We've listened to your feedback on the NCDW website and added a few ideas of our own. We think you'll find the dynamic new improvements to the website, along with our regular content updates, as exciting as we do. These include a new Must-Have Career Resources page, an Event Planning Resources page, and a new Videos gallery. So keep an eye on the website for these and more new developments.
New Factsheets
Don't miss the latest new Career Factsheets up now on the website. We will continue to develop these resources specifically tailored to answer your questions and meet your needs, or those of your students, clients, family or friends.

NCDW Ambassadors
We recently announced that Steve Liebmann would be returning as an Ambassador in 2010. We're delighted to be able to confirm that Mark Furze (actor, musician) and Angela Bishop (Network Ten News entertainment reporter) are joining the NCDW program.
Some of you may remember that Mark Furze (who is perhaps most well-known for his acting role as "Ric" on Home & Away) was an Ambassador in 2008. Mark has since left the popular weeknight drama and is currently working hard fronting his band, Falcon Road, and making another of his career dreams happen. We first met Angela Bishop when she agreed to interview NCDW Ambassador Anthony Field for Network Ten News earlier this year. Read on for some latest news on some of what we have planned for Mark and Angela for this year's campaign.
In Production - Career Development Videos
This year we've decided to bring you something a little different in your event kit. As outlined above the Event Planning Resources previously sent to all registered event organisers are now up on the NCDW website. For those registering events in 2010, we will be providing a fantastic new resource consisting of six short videos which communicate the career development messages in a fun and easily accessible way.
These videos have been developed specially for National Career Development Week in conjunction with the Career Industry Council of Australia. The videos will be presented in a cool, upbeat, and motivational style by Mark Furze (actor, musician) and Angela Bishop (Network Ten News entertainment reporter), supported by interviews with career development practitioners and our range of inspiring NCDW Ambassadors. The videos will also be subtitled.
These videos are a unique communication tool, especially designed to engage the 15 to 24 age group, to make them aware of the benefits of career development, what it is and how to do it. Each video may be used as an independent resource or in conjunction with any or all of the other five videos. The videos will be made available on the website later but all registered event organisers will receive a special disc along with their resource kit from mid-February 2010. So register early to avoid disappointment and make sure you're one of the first to benefit from this wonderful new resource!
Have a Safe & Happy Festive Season
From the NCDW Team
