Experience+ Career Advice
Free Career Advice for mature age Australians who are 45 years or older.
Free career advice is now available for all Australians aged 45 years and over. The Australian Government’s Experience+ Career Advice service offers free telephone appointments with qualified career advisers.
Career Advisers offer two types of appointments: Career Planning or Resume Appraisal.
Career Planning will help you identify your skills and experience, explore career options and will result in a plan of action to help you achieve your goals.
As part of a Resume Appraisal session, the career adviser will review your application letter, resume or selection criteria to ensure that you are marketing yourself as effectively as possible to potential employers.
You can access one or both types of support.
Career Advisers can also let you know if you might be eligible for further practical help.
If you are 55 years or over and you are finding it difficult to do your current job because it is physically demanding, or you have a health condition, you may be eligible for additional training and face to face support.
If you are working with apprentices and trainees, your employer may be eligible for a training grant of $4950 to pay for training at the Certificate III or above that will allow you develop new skills to mentor or supervise an apprentice or trainee.
Our career advisers have a minimum qualification of a Graduate Certificate and meet the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) requirements for professional membership.
They are practitioners with expertise in guidance and career counselling, providing a friendly service dedicated to mature age Australians.
