What is National Career Development Week?
- In the current economic climate many Australians are worried about being laid off or made redundant in 2009. President of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA), Mr Mike Geeves says "Setting a new direction for 2010 that matches your values interests and lifestyle can turn gloom into an exciting journey".
National Career Development Week (NCDW) is a key initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia and is funded by the Federal Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). NCDW, through hundreds of careers events run throughout the year, encourages all Australians to actively engage in career development and develop the skills to manage their careers, learning, work and lives in order to get the life they love.
In 2010, the week in which we celebrate all of the careers activities held throughout the year will be from 17 to 23 May 2010.
In the current job climate, attending a National Career Development Week registered event is a positive way for all Australians to deal with any anxiety they may have about their job future.
