What is National Career Development Week?
17 to 23 May, 2010
National Career Development Week (NCDW) celebrates all of the careers activities held in Australia throughout the year.
It is a key initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) and is funded by the Federal Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
NCDW, through hundreds of careers events run during the year, encourages all Australians to actively engage in career development and develop the skills to manage their careers, learning, work and lives in order to get the life they love.
How do I get involved?
It's as easy as registering a careers event on our website and then using the resources we provide to help you run a successful career development activity.
Organisers of careers events across Australia at any time of the year are encouraged to register their events on the NCDW website to link their events to a major national careers initiative. All registered events are included on the Event Search database on the website and will receive free resources, support materials and merchandise.
- Decide on the type of event you want to hold. Need ideas? check out the Event Ideas Factsheet or see what others are doing on the Events Search.
- Plan your event (date & time, venue, target audience). Check out the Event Planning Checklist.
- Register your event (date, time, venue and type of event) - REMEMBER - your event doesn't have to be held between 18 - 24 May - all events can be registered. We'll send you an Event Kit to help you with all the planning and some free merchandise to promote your event and as giveaways.
- Don't forget to promote your event.
The Factsheets and Templates on this website have been designed to help you plan your event. There are many more included on the Event Kit disc that you'll received when you register an event.
