Encourage your workplace, school or organisation to get involved by running a National Career Development Week event. There are lots of ideas in the Event Kit. - Spread the word
Visit internet sites of your professional, industry and technical organisations – if they don’t mention National Career Development Week, provide ideas for activities and suggest they provide a link from their site to http://www.nationalcareerdevelopmentweek.com.au/.
Spread the word and share the site with your family, friends and work colleagues via our online Tell a Friend form. - Start Learning
Learn more about career development by taking the free online course at http://www.career.edu.au/. This is designed for career practitioners, parents, youth workers, coaches and community leaders and others with an interest in helping others with education and employment choices. - Keep Learning
Talk to your friends, family and colleagues about their careers. Consider how careers have changed over time and how everything you do contributes to your skills, knowledge and attitudes. You could learn something about your friends that you don’t know! - Teach others
Have your son or daughter shadow you at work for a day (with your employers permission). You could also write to your local newspaper, radio station or Chamber of Commerce, and offer to speak about the importance of career development. - Update your own skills and book yourself some Professional Development
