  2. Volunteer
Discover your Local Community Partnership and volunteer to assist them, or other organisations, with local National Career Development Week events.

  4. Spread the word
Visit internet sites of your professional, industry and technical organisations – if they don’t mention National Career Development Week, provide ideas for activities and suggest they provide a link from their site to http://www.ncdw.com.au (or if it's easier to remember http://www.aussiecareerweek.com ) Spread the word and share the site with your family, friends and work colleagues via our online Pass it on form in the function box on the right →.
  5. Start Learning
Learn more about career development by taking the free online course at http://www.career.edu.au/. This is designed for career practitioners, parents, youth workers, coaches and community leaders and others with an interest in helping others with education and employment choices.

Have your son or daughter shadow you at work for a day (with your employers permission). You could also write to your local newspaper, radio station or Chamber of Commerce, and offer to speak about the importance of career development.
  8. Update your own skills and book yourself some Professional Development
  9. Check whether you meet the Professional Standards
  10. Join a Career Industry Council of Australia member association
  11. Check out the Australian Blueprint for Career Development and 11 competencies for Career Development
